Giovedì 9 novembre 1961. Brian Epstein scende per la prima volta i gradini del Cavern Club di Liverpool per assistere al concerto di una nuova band locale: i Beatles. Mesmerizzato dalla performance, Brian vede in loro qualcosa che nessun altro avrebbe potuto vedere: un barlume di luce. Elegante e forbito, Epstein non era certo un radicale o un rivoluzionario, ma essendo ebreo, omosessuale non dichiarato e cresciuto come un outsider che aveva fallito praticamente in tutto, era un ventiseienne con qualcosa da dimostrare e con la volontà di scrivere nuove regole.
