This course contains the use of artificial intelligence. It uses AI-generated narration and cover artwork, with AI-assisted editorial revision and additional practice material.

Build the vocabulary and reading habits used in the Duolingo English Test through short teaching videos, independent drills and explained practice. Work on Read and Select, Fill in the Blanks, Read and Complete and Interactive Reading.

WHAT YOU WILL STUDY
Recognise standard English words, check spelling and learn related forms. Use grammar, supplied letters and context to complete words. Follow references and sentence links, identify precise answers, and distinguish the main idea from a supporting detail.

HOW THE COURSE WORKS
The teaching uses Form, Function and Flow as practical study prompts. Watch a short lesson, attempt the activity, read the explanation and record an error pattern. Use the downloadable study plans to decide what to practise next. The framework and error codes organise study; they are not an official Duolingo scoring model or a validated diagnostic instrument.

WHAT IS INCLUDED
Seventeen narrated teaching lessons, with worked examples and timed independent practice screens. Nine PDF resources provide a course companion, word-family matrix, morphology and spelling toolkit, word-recognition drills, sentence-completion drills, paragraph practice, Interactive Reading practice, a test-day pack and a practice-results guide. Seven section quizzes contain 136 questions. Two fixed practice tests contain 86 questions each. There are 308 scored online questions in total, with explanations for the supplied answers.

RESPONSE-FORMAT ADAPTATIONS
The online scored questions use multiple choice. Word-completion items ask you to choose a whole word, while the real task requires typing missing letters. Highlighting items ask you to compare answer phrases, while the real task requires selecting text. Individual word gaps expand into separate online questions, so the course item counts do not reproduce the official six-question Interactive Reading sequence. Use the printable activities and a separate timer for independent typing and answer-span practice.

TIMING AND RESULTS
The fixed practice tests use a 45-minute course timer and an 80% study target. They include additional passage practice and do not reproduce the adaptive test, its full interface or its official scoring. Course percentages and pass labels help you review these questions. They cannot be converted into DET scores, CEFR levels or admission-readiness decisions. Repeated attempts also reflect familiarity with the items. No score improvement or exam result is guaranteed.

This course focuses on Reading and vocabulary. Listening, Speaking and Writing preparation is outside its scope. Use current official Duolingo practice alongside it to become familiar with the actual test actions and rules. The course suits learners with intermediate English who can already read everyday texts and want a structured way to practise.
